Professional Instructor, Randy Emberlin has worked as a comic book artist and cartoon animator for 25 years! He is best known for his work on Amazing Spider-man and G.I. Joe!

For students in the greater Portland and Beaverton Oregon metropolitan areas, Randy Emberlin will be teaching two Art Camps this year. The Cartooning and Comic Book Art Camp and Comic Book Art Camp 2 with Intro to Animation. Come join Randy in July and August and have fun learning to draw your favorite Super Heroes.

Cartooning and Comic Book Art Camp

  • Come and have fun learning to draw some of your favorite comic book Super-Heroes and Cartoon Characters, Funny Animals, Japanese Manga and Anime.
  • You will learn how to design your own Comic Book Characters using model sheets.
  • We will make full-sized Comic Book Covers and Sound Effects Action Posters.
  • Even start your own comic strip!

Student Fee: $200 for 4 half-days Open to Grades 3-9

  Summer Art Camp Animation Class

Comic Book Art Camp 2 (with intro to animation)

  • As a continuation of Comic Book Camp #1, students will finish projects and learn more advanced comic book techniques, such as planning your own comic book using layout, design and storytelling techniques.
  • Also warm up by learning to draw a new character each day!
  • Plus an introduction to cartoon animation using Zoetrope strips, using Animation Cycles like: Continuous Action, Metamorphosis, Exaggeration or Lateral Motion or a walk cycle for your cartoon character!
  • All materials are provided!

Student Fee: $200 for 4 half-days Open to Grades 3-8
